Mark Edward Blankenship Obituary

Mark Edward Blankenship, 66, of Grantsville, West Virginia, departed his earthly home on February 25, 2026, at The Willows in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Born March 30, 1959, in Grantsville, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Forest and Silvia Blankenship. Mark was raised in Grantsville and remained deeply rooted in the community he loved throughout his life.

He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Grantsville, where he served as a trustee. Mark worked in the pipeline industry for several years and later was employed by Custom Wood Structures. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.

Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, and especially wood carving, a hobby that reflected both his patience and creativity. He valued time spent outdoors and cherished the friendships he built over the years..

He is survived by his brothers, Neal Blankenship (Linda), Don Blankenship, Rickey Blankenship (Terry), and James Blankenship; his sisters, Anna Rader, Nancy Sullivan (Bruce), and Patsy Blankenship; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will greatly miss him.

In accordance with his wishes, Mark was cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
