Dorothy Jean Hale, 82, of Big Springs, West Virginia, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV.
She was born December 31, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, she’s the daughter of the late Donald and Opal Taylor Holbert.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter Robin Gillespie.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years Thomas Hale and son Robert Hale.
She was a member Smithville Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Chuck McCroskey officiating, at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 107 Market Street, Grantsville, WV 26147. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Saunders Cemetery, Big Springs, WV.
