It is almost Election Time!

The Calhoun County Clerk’s Office is well underway in preparation for the General Election 2026. The General Election is November 3rd, 2026. 

Voters should be aware of these dates to ensure a smooth voting experience: 

• Voter Registration Deadline is October 13, 2026. This includes precinct changes, address updates, party changes and registering to vote in the General Election. 

• Early voting begins October 21st, 2026. EARLY VOTING WILL BE HELD IN THE GRANTSVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT BUILDING. 

• Early voting hours are 8am – 4pm Monday thru Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. 

• Registered Voters may now begin submitting applications for absentee ballots. Ballots will be mailed beginning September 18th, 2026. 

• Applications for absentee ballots can be requested by any of the following means:

  • Self Print at www.govotewv.com
  • Pick up in the County Clerk’s Office Monday – Friday 8am-4pm 
  • Or by mail by contacting the County Clerk at

If any registered voter is interested in serving as a poll worker in the General Election, please contact the County Clerk’s office. 

New this election….. any 16 or 17 year old student who meet the following criteria may serve as a poll worker in the General Election 

​To qualify, a student in West Virginia must:

• Meet all existing eligibility requirements, except the voter registration requirement.

• Be a junior or senior in good standing.

• Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (for public or private school students).

• Obtain written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

• Obtain written approval from the school principal if service occurs on a school day.

• Successfully complete the required election official training program.
