Billy Foster, 82, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away September 3, 2026, at Mile Tree Center in Spencer, West Virginia.
He was born May 30, 1944, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, a son of the late Orrin Foster and Artie Hancock Foster.
Billy was a forester by trade and worked for Burke, Parsons & Bowlby for many years.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Mary Freeland (Billy); one sister, Linda Batten; grandchildren, Drew White (Ashley), Jadah Freeland, Josh Freeland, Billy Freeland Jr. (Lora), and Clifford Foster (Patty); great-grandchildren, Olen Foster, Corbin Foster, Marley Freeland, and Rylee White; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Gale Foster; daughter, Maria White; son, Timothy Foster; sisters, Betty Barton, Donna Guy, Carol Russ, and Daraleine Cottrell; and brothers, Keith Foster, Emmett Foster, and Johnny Foster.
In accordance with Billy’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, West Virginia, was honored to assist the Foster family with Billy’s arrangements.
