Wilburt H. “Bub” Shackleford, 84, of Linn, WV; departed this earthly life in the late afternoon hours of Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the Glenville Health and Rehab Center in in Glenville, WV; following an extended illness.
He was born September 30, 1941 in Linn, and is the son of the late Harvey and Ella May (Ables) Shackleford.
Bub spent most of his working life in the Oil and Gas industry, having worked multiple jobs including but not limited to pipelining, well tending, and everything in between. Bub is best known as the co-owner of the 33 Club near Glenville with his wife Karen. They have served the public for nearly 30 years with a delightful smile and excellent food.
In his spare time, Bub enjoyed spending time outdoors, farming when he was able, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their endeavors, and he is a Christian by faith.
On September 15, 1962 Bub was united in marriage to Karen (Keesecker) Shackleford, who survives at the Linn home. Bub and Karen were always together and celebrated 64 years of marriage the day before his passing.
Surviving are 2 children, West Shackleford (Michelle) of Linn, and Wanda Tomblin (Wendell) of Sand Fork, WV; 4 grandchildren, Dylan Tomblin (Morgan), Ryan Tomblin (Rachael), Amber Duelley (JD), and West Shackleford II (Jessi), and 9 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kaelyn, Brinlee, Ryder, Rayden, Avarie, Jansen, Hadlee, and Gracen.
Also surviving are 7 siblings; Shady Hannigan of Weston, WV, Mollie (Ronnie) Lamb of Horner, WV, Ella Mae Tomey of Pricetown, WV, Jesse Shackleford of Vadis, WV, Jim (Cathy) Shackleford of Troy, WV, Rocky Shackleford of Shinnston, WV, and Rozella Montgomery of Linn, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents (Harvey and Ella) Bub is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Delbert Shackleford Gilbert Shackleford, Mavis Lowther, Violet Bush, and Mary Starcher,
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Tuesday, September 22, 2026 with Ivan Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 PM; Monday evening at the Mortuary in Glenville.
