Some local folks motored to Morristown for the Pancake Breakfast which was a tasty success.  The consequences of the recent flood there were obvious and lots of round hay bales were washed away.  Some homes were damaged.  Some there were talking about Dan Metz’s proposed bond levy to build a new school so he could have his name on it.  It would seem that many have serious doubts about the wisdom of his scheme.  Folks were reminded about the last time with Waymond F. Riley and that fiasco.

Annamoriah resident Clay Rader who has been very sick and in the ICU passed away.

The Wirt County Historical Society and the Wirt County Development Authority had a special event to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.  There were tours of the Beauchamp Newman Museum and the old Hotel in Elizabeth and tours of the Oil & Gas museum at Burning Springs Park & tours of the historic log Ruble Church at the head of Burning Springs Run.  There used to be a sign at the church stating that those who “held northern principles” were not welcome.

The global warming hoaxers had said that there would be many more hurricanes than usual.  Anyway, this season finally there was one with a name that is hard to say.  The remnants of the storm brought rain to Creston & the West Fork is up some again.  Some folks got their hay ‘washed’.

Chuck & Glen Cogar were attending to business in Creston.

The power company folks spent half a day putting up wires on the new poles down on the dePue straight.  Power was off again Saturday evening and during the outage a local resident received a call from Wood County 911 asking about “the call”.  It was explained that the residents were fast asleep and made no telephone calls to the center.

Kathleen Cervone was visiting her brother Jimmy Wright who lives up in Ohio.  He has had a stroke & she has been helping take care of him.

Alvin Engelke has two very cute little kittens for that special child that needs a kitten to love and play with.

W. Va. State Treasurer Larry Pack reported that EQT’s MVP (Mountain Valley Pipeline) generated $27.1 million in county taxes for the 11 counties that it traverses to the Old Dominion.

Amazon reported that the firm plans to build 36 data centers on the Homer City site in Pennsylvania where there is being constructed a 4.5 GW power plant to run data centers on site.

David Barr reported that Jacques Frost had been calling in the White Pine neighborhood.  He has not yet called in the Creston area although some leaves are beginning to turn.

Timmy Barker who lives on Burning Springs Run is in the Cleveland Clinic.  He is a grandson of Francis Lockhart.

The national election has been making a lot of news.  For most places, especially elsewhere what is really on the ballot is the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution & the Bill of Rights.  There are those in the nation who abhor the Declaration of Independence and the statement that rights come from the Creator, not a malevolent government that rules absolutely .  The “big tent” folks are now controlled by those who oppose western civilization, Christians and Jews and believe that individuals should not own property or have individual rights.  Those who live in the Old Dominion found out that Mrs. Spamberger, the CIA agent, was not a “moderate” at all but part of the Big Eared One’s “fundamental transformation of the nation”.

Dimbulb the big road boss has been adamant that the “Core Maintenance Manual” does not allow repairs to rural roads near Creston.  Those who have had occasion to travel I-77 down in the Capitol city have found that there are bad bumps that are dangerous at various bridges.  One would think that the “Core Maintenance Manual” would call for those to be fixed.  Perhaps Dimbulb or “Mr. Rumbalz” has a deal with Bubba’s Tire & Alignment or perhaps  the important folks down there have Teslas, Beamers, Silver Clouds, Lexus, Maseratis, and such that can skip over the imperfections in the surface of the roadway.  Since it has stayed warm, the hotmix plants are still open making what could be used to fill the holes.

The nice folks in Iran told their folks in America to vote against the president and their allies over there decided to strike their Muslim “buddies” in Saudi Arabia.  No doubt some will quickly learn a very painful lesson and they likely will get their 72 virgins.  As a result of such the price of crude has gone back up with local Pennsylvania grade crude fetching $89.87/bbl. With condensate bringing $72.87/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light fetching $79.87/bbl.  While the Henry Hub price of natural gas is $3.15 the local price fell to 88.5 cents/MMBTU which, taking into consideration inflation is likely the lowest price ever for local natural gas.  In a fair world folks heating bills this winter should be at least halved or maybe cut to one fourth. Many gas producers are just shutting in their wells instead of giving away a valuable resource. The high price of diesel is, in part, the result of government plans to shut down refineries as part of the green new deal scam.  No new refineries have been built for decades, again reflecting federal & state government “mandates”.
