The government mandated fast time came to an end. The president tried to put an end to the silly time changes but the deep state still has clout.
Burning Springs resident Timmy Barker had another throat surgery last week.
Several Creston residents participated in the Elizabeth Trick or Treat activities Saturday evening. There were lots of excellent costumes including several dinosaurs.
Rusty Hutson Jr.’s Diversified Gas & Oil’s subsidiary Next Level has a big plugging operation on Burning Springs Run. Things started off rough when the crew drove into peoples lawns, tore out shrubs, etc. without asking. “Oh we gave you 20 days notice”. Seems notices were sent to prior owners. “Oh the tax map says you don’t own that!” When the tax maps were first made the wizards down at the Mouth of the Elk said “they don’t have to be accurate; they are only for tax purposes.’ One older resident was told that they were going to cut several of his trees so they could get to wells and they said they had no intention to pay him. One wonders when the equalizers are brought out in force. On one well above the pond the oil sprayed 200 feet in the air with an estimated 40 bbl. Lost as there was no plan to catch or save the crude. It was reported that 87 bbl. Was recovered. Residents were told that the plugging was to prevent methane pollution of the atmosphere. At this point the wells being plugged are shallow oil wells many drilled 150 years ago and there hasn’t been natural gas emitted in decades. Residents were told the operation would continue for at least a year [or to when the tax dollars run out]. The crew had been plugging wells over near Freeport. Their man asked a resident there why the rig hit bottom at 90 feet in a well with galvanized casing. Well, $144,000 later the water well was plugged.
A pickup truck with the name EXO with Texas tags was in Creston on Thursday. The men said they were doing “pole inspection” for Mon Power. They had drills and a bottle with some unknown liquid.
Residents in the western suburbs of Creston had power outages as they were hooked up to the new power poles and lines.
Creston residents attended the FFA beef barbecue at the high school in Elizabeth.
Ed Hardman put a new metal roof on the Creston Space Dock.
It is now November and there has not been a killing frost in Creston. Flowers continue to bloom, tomato plants have new flowers & little green tomatoes. Some say all this has to do with an unusual situation in the Pacific Ocean. One day last week there was a spectacular red sky in the morning but, unlike the saying, there was nothing to worry sailors and there was no rain.
It was reported that there are now 70 million Trump accounts where small children get a $1,000 investment account that can be added to by family, employers, etc. Of course such matters enrage the communists who want us all to live in poverty in a “workers paradise”. Next year Elon Musk is to give each American child one share of SpaceX. Now, the commies want to have the government take over the private company. This is the outfit that plans a base on the moon & has revived the American space program. Our enemies do not want any part of these things.
The Wirt road crew fixed the rough spot at ‘Greenland’ or just above Sargent’s Run on the Right Reedy (Garfield) road. The Callhoun road crew has milled out a rough spot near the former Mc Criss residence on W. Va. 5 on the way to Brooksville. The broken pavement down below where Okey J. Campbell formerly lived has not been fixed.
The leaves along the road going up the Blankenship hill and over the hill to Tom’s Run are good but, for the most part, local color for the leaves is drab. However, in Upshur, Barbour & Randolph counties the leaves are at their prime. Also Buckhannon had some amazing Halloween decorations.
Range Resources formerly had wells in Clay County but then the firm drilled the first Marcellus well in Pennsylvania and the rest is history. Now EQT has acquired Range Resources in a $50 billion deal.
EQT CEO Toby Rice said that the demand for Appalachian area gas will exceed 25 bcf (billion cubic feet)/day up from the previous estimate of 20 bcf/day. He head honcho of CNX, one of the Rockefeller family firms, said “every drop of gas in Appalachia is going to be developed”.
Denver based Antero Resources said that the firm is producing 4.234 bcfe/day even though 100 million cubic feet/day is shut in because the price is only 60 cents/mcf. The firm also reported that their income from NGLs (natural gas liquids including ethane, propane, etc.) is up 50% from the last quarter.
The green weenie governor of Pennsylvania who wants to play president bragged that he had plugged 500 wells since he became governor. It was noted that Ohio plugged 1215 abandoned wells during the same time period.
It was learned that Wirt County has a serious problem with emergency services and the lack of availability of ambulances for county residents. One fellow noted that if it was between a $29 million new high school or more money to have an ambulance in an emergency there was no doubt. Several have been calling for a county wide meeting to address the issue.
It was learned that the Teacher’s Union has spent $900 million lobbying for whatever while test scores continue to fall and students can’t read or do arithmetic.
Those who complain about the high price of gasolene really don’t have their facts straight. No doubt the day after the end of the Iran conflict the price will crash. George W. Bush had 146 days with crude oil above $100/bbl. While Obama had 308 days. In his first term Donald Trump had 0 days while Biden (or Auto Pen) had 83 days. So far in the second term Trump has had 35 days and none of this is taking inflation into consideration.
Natural gas at the Henry Hub in Louisiana was $2.90/MMBTU while West Texas crude was $104.50/bbl. While Brent (North Sea) oil fetched $113.43/bbl. Local Pennsylvania grade crude was $100/bbl. With condensate fetching $83.00/bbl. &Marcellus & Utica light bringing $90.00/bbl.
