Candace Marie Cash, age 40, of Grantsville, WV was arrested on September 5th, 2022 on the charge of Grand Larceny as well as a capias.
According to West Virginia State Police, Trooper Brian E. Young, on Friday, August 5, 2022, victim Gary Stiltner walked into the West Virginia State Police Detachment in Grantsville to report his vehicle stolen. He informed Trp. Young that Candace Cash had taken a vehicle from the Calhoun Courthouse in Grantsville on Thursday, August 4th, 2022.
Mr. Stiltner stated that he had let Richard Talley drive his vehicle from his residence on Sassafras Road to the Courthouse in Grantsville for a court appearance. He further said that after Candace Cash had taken the keys from Richard Talley when he was taken into custody and transported to the WV Central Regional Jail. She then left the area and has not returned the vehicle to him.
On August 5th, 2022, Trp. Young spoke with Tina Persinger who said that she had witnessed Candace Cash drive away from the Courthouse in a red four door sedan bearing an Ohio registration. The vehicle matched the description of the victims stolen vehicle. The approximate value of the stolen vehicle is $2958 according to Kelly Blue Book pricing.
