Calhoun Youth Football hosted the Roane County Little Raiders on Sunday 9/18 and came away with 3 wins out of the 4 games. The day started off with Flag winning by a score of 8 touchdowns to 5 touchdowns. Kayleb Harris and Brantley Davis had 2 touchdowns a piece on the day. Jaxon Snodgress, Gunner Burrows, River Parsons and Aaron Cunningham each scored a touchdown as well.
The next game was A team and Calhoun was able to get their first win on the season with a 42-0 victory. Calhoun had a balanced attack on offense as 5 different players was able to get into the end zone. Kason Stamper led the team with 69 rushing yards on 7 carries. He had a 24 yard Touchdown run. Michael Richards had 4 carries for 32 yards with a 5 yard touchdown run. Trevor Mayle had 22 yards on 3 Carrie’s he had a 3 yard scoring run and an extra point. Sam Bailey had 3 carries for 21 yards and a 15 yard TD run. He also added an extra point. Ezra Anderson had 3 carries for 19 yards and 2 extra points. Preston Sauer rounded out the rushing attack with 21 yards on 2 carries with a 16 yard touchdown. Trevor Mayle had 59 passing yards on 2 completions. One of those completions was a 43 yard touchdown pass to Preston Sauer. Eddie Burrows added a pass reception for 16 yards. Defensively Eddie Burrows led the team with 8 tackles. Ezra Anderson had 6 tackles. Braydon Hardway, Landon Hawkins and Sam Bailey added 4 each. Kason Stamper had 3, Clayton Foster had 2 and Trevor Mayle, Preston Sauer and Cohen Blankenship had 1 tackle each. Trevor Mayle also had a score in Defense has he stripped the ball and ran it back 30 yards for a fumble recovery touchdown.
The C team was next and faced a tough and undefeated Roane county squad. The Raiders came away with. 32-0 victory. Haygan Houchin led the Red Devils with 61 rushing yards on 4 carries and Colten Heiney was able to add 2 rushing yards. Defensively Houchin had 6 tackles in the game. Colten Heiney added 3 and Ryder Simmons had 2 tackles. Raines Riddel, Carper Summers, Quinten Parkin and Michael McClain added 1 tackle each.
The B team finished up the day and was able to remain undefeated with a 41-6 victory. Offensively Bentley Snodgress led the team with 105 yards rushing on 7 carries with 2 touchdowns (56 and 9 yards) and 2 extra points. Tyler Mayle had 5 Carrie’s for 53 yards with 1 TD (5 yards) and 1 extra point. Josh Hardbarger had 6 carries for 34 yards with 1 extra point. Grayson Laughlin had 39 yards on 4 carries with a 28 yard touchdown and an extra point. Brantley Schoolcraft added 19 yards on 3 carries with a 10 yard TD run. And Jase Farley rounded out the rushing attack with 3 carries for 11 yards. Liam Yeager had passing completions for 49 yards with 1 passing touchdown for 30 yards. Bentley Snodgress was on the receiving end of that 30 yard touchdown. Tyler Mayle had 2 catches for 19 yards. Defensively Grayson Laughlin had 4 tackles. Tyler Mayle had 3 tackles. Bentley Snodgress, Carter Thompson and Silas Cunningham each had 2 tackles. And Chandler Cottrell and Tristan Rogers each added 1 tackle. Tyler Mayle had an interception and Carter Thompson had a fumble Recovery.
Calhoun will host the Elk River Husky’s next Sunday September 25th. Flag will start at Noon, A team at 1 with C and then B teams to follow.
