WHAT’S A SEDER?
The seder, a festive holiday meal, actually means “order.” It is called this because the meal is done in a certain order which takes us from slavery to freedom. The Haggadah – which means “the telling” β is the book used at the Passover seder. The Haggadah explains the foods on the Seder plate and the foods on the seder plates recounts the story of the Exodus including songs and prayer.
The Exodus is a picture of the saving grace of Jesus Christ that we now experience as children of God. The Seder experience allows us to see how God delivered His people from the bondage they experienced in Egypt and how we likewise are delivered from the bondage of sin into a a wonderful relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We learn that in hard times we can draw strength from God and continue on.
It is our prayer that you and your family have a blessed Easter Holiday.
