Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched shortly before 1 a.m. to a structure fire at 2668 Altizer Road. Once Arnoldsburg arrived on scene and discovered the situation on location the Upper West Fork VFD was told they could return to their station.
The fully engulfed structure was an abandoned cabin along the West Fork Little Kanawha River. A neighbor called Calhoun Control to inform them of the fire, the second occasion the Arnoldsburg VFD has had to respond to that location. According to Chief Tanner, a confirmed arson that occurred there two years ago brought them to this place, and due to there being no utilities hooked up to the dwelling, it lis once again under an arson investigation. The WV State Fire Marshall has been contacted. The structure was a complete loss.
