Betty L. Salvino, 90, of Weston, WV; departed this earthly life in the late evening hours of Monday, November 10, 2025 at the WVU Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV; following an extended illness.
She was born March 8, 1935 in Linn, WV; daughter of the late Wellington and Hazel (Messenger) McHenry.
Betty is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1953. She worked as a nursing aid for the Weston State Hospital, having retired with 28 years’ experience. Betty is a Methodist by faith and member of the Broad St., United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed reading, working with crafts, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.
On December 11, 1954 Betty was united in marriage to Ruhel T. Conrad, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1974.
On February 15, 1978 Betty was united in marriage to her second husband, James Salvino, who preceded her in death on September 16, 2008.
Surviving are 3 children, Richard Conrad (Vera) of Mt. Clare, WV; Bobby Conrad of Salt Lake City, UT; and Debbie Conrad of Bridgeport, OH; and 4 grandchildren, Mike Henry (April), Mark Henry, Christopher “Chris” Conrad, Charles “Zach” Conrad.
Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Esmee, Cora, Elliott, Cecilia, and Vincent Henry, and Harper Grace Conrad, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents (Wellington and Hazel) and her husbands (Ruhel and James), Betty is preceded in death by 6 brothers, Dennis, Deward, Woodrow, Doc, and Howard McHenry, and Hoy Keith, and 2 sisters, Goldie Jones and Wilma Huffman.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Saturday, November 15, 2025. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 PM; Saturday at the mortuary in Glenville.
