Bills Arrested for Shoplifing and Possession with Intent

On June 4th, 2024, Deputy Hannah Stephens received a complaint from Cha-Ti’s convenience store for three shoplifted items totaling $105.97. This was confirmed by video surveilance showing two individuals: one identified as Bianca Cooksey-Vigil and the other an unidentified male.

A search warrant was executed on the residence of Cooksey-Vigil at 150 Nobe Road, Big Bend, WV. During the search, all three shoplifted item were recovered in the residence and within the control of the male, identified as William Joseph Bills, who gave a mirandized confession for the shoplifting.

A criminal history report shows that Bills was previously charged and confvicted of shoplifting 1st offense in Wood County on October 12, 12022.

In a separate complaint filed the same date of June 4th, 2024, Cpl. J.M. Ellis of the West Virginia State Police Department filed a second complaint with Calhoun Magistrate Court on William J. Ellis. The officer stated that on that date at 7:30 p.m. he assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff Department on a search warrant located at 150 Nobe Road. While on the scene Cpl. Ellis was clearing the rooms in the home and asked the homeowner if there was anyone in the room to the officer’s right, and was advised, “No.”

Cpl. Ellis knocked on the bedroom door and heard a male voice answer. At that time he opened the door nd instructed the male to come out and searched his person for weapons. Upon securing the male and continuing the search, the officer found one clear baggy of suspected Meth on the bed where the male had been lying down. Cpl. Ellis asked the home owner if she had knowledge of the meth and she advised “No.”

The male was identified as William Bills and he advised the officer that the Meth was his. Also discovered was a set of digital scales. The meth was weighed and determined to be approximately 17 grams. Cpl. Ellis charged William Bills with Possession with intent to deliver.

William Bill was taken charged with Shoplifting and Possession with intent to deliver and taken to the WV Central Regional Jail where he is being held with no bond listed to await trial.
