The Calhoun County Animal Shelter will be located just off Country Lane on Mt. Zion with property purchased by the Calhoun County Commission. Teresa Overton, of the 1982 Foundation, announced today that the Bootstrap Organization, which had been working toward starting an Animal Shelter in Calhoun, will be meeting with anyone interested in helping to strategize what’s needed to make the facility operational. The meeting will be on November 15th, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Calhoun Library in Grantsville.

UPDATE: Road closure was due to a tree on a power line. Will update when road re-opens According to Calhoun Control, the Russett Road, Route 7 is closed until further notice between the mile marks of 4.5 to 5 miles. No reason was given, but Ridgeview will update as soon as the information becomes available.
