Ridgeview News reached out to the County Clerk regarding a special meeting that was called by the Calhoun County Commissioners for Thursday Evening, January 19, 2023 at 4 p.m. The reason for the work session has not been stated. There was no agenda or purpose listed on the announcement. We will cover the meeting,

On January 6, 2021, defendant Danny Lane (Grantsville) was sentenced after being found guilty by a Calhoun County jury in April 2021. The defendant was convicted of Kidnaping, Malicious Assault, Assault During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy, and Battery.  The defendant received two consecutive life sentences with the possibility of parole.
