On Monday, May 26th, 2025, S/Trooper S.D. Morris of the Glenville Detachment received information of a possible fraudulent transaction that was made on September 10th, 2024. Trooper Morris made contact with the complainant who advised him that his mother had written a check to A&A Monument Services for $5,800 to pay in full for a dual headstone, following the death of her husband. The transaction was said to have occurred in an office in Gilmer County, and that the transaction took place with Nathan Allison the owner of A&A Monument Services.
The complainant advised that since the transaction date, he had been unable to contact Mr. Allison, and he has not fulfilled the order of the headstone or any further service.
Trooper Morris had attempted multiple times to obtain a statement from Mr. Allison at the WV State Police Glenville Detachment, where Mr. Allison never appeared after setting up multiple dates to meet at the detachment. Mr. Allison did provide Trooper Morris three different companies for which he believed that he had ordered t he headstone, but when the officer made contact with those companies he was provided information that there was never a headstone ordered from that company by Mr. Allison or his business.
Mr. Allison later provided a statement to Trooper Morris via public service where Allison advised the Trooper that he had been waiting for the shipment of the headstone due to high tariffs but provided information that he did not have an invoice or confirmation for the order.
The victim is an older female who was over the age of 65 years of age at the time the order was placed. Mr. Allison has not provided Trooper Morris proof of an order or invoices for a headstone and has never refunded the victim for her purchase that was not received.
Nathan Samuel Allison has been charged with Fraudulent Schemes >$1,000 and Financial exploitation of an Elderly person.
Nathan Samuel Allison is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
