Calhoun shows well in first track meet

Saturday the Calhoun High School Track and Field Team had its first meet of the season in the Don Williams Memorial at Roane County High School. 

“Couldn’t have asked for a better season opener. Great weather and great performances,” Coach Kayla Ware said. “As a coach, I am excited to say that there is a lot of really great potential for this season!”

To start the season the Red Devils already have had one school record broken.

Kristian Frederick broke the school record in the discus throw with a throw of 119’9. Kristian broke the school record last year, ending last year’s season with a throw of 106’8 at the regional meet. Meaning he is starting this season with an additional 13 ft and a strong determination to compete at states this year. 

Calhoun also had numerous top six placements which include:

400 Meter:

4th Place- Eli Ferrell (1:01.06)

1600 Meter:

3rd Place- Eli Ferrell (5:26.27)

4th Place- Jackson Clawson (5:38.45)

3200 Meter:

2nd Place- Jackson Clawson (12:20.59)

3rd Place- Zac Smith (13:24.40)

Shot Put:

6th Place- Kristian Frederick (29’0)

Discus:

1st Place- Kristian Frederick (119’9)

Long Jump:

1st Place- Kyrian Mounts (18’1.5)

3rd Place- Khloe Cobbett (12’5)

4*100 Girls Relay:

4th Place-
