Calhoun Youth Football travelled to Roane County on Saturday September 30th looking to bounce back from a rough weekend against Elk River last week. And bounce back they did. The Little Red Devils walked away with a 4 game swee of the Little Raiders and secured a spot in the playoffs for all 3 teams (Flag does not have a playoff). Flag football kicked off the day defeating Roane County 6-5. Calhoun had 2 scores on the day from Gunner Burrows. Jace Nicholson, Rylan Sampson, Aaron Cunningham and Charlotte Bain also each added a score for the Little Devils.
Calhoun’s C team was the next game up and the Little Red Devils secured their spot in the playoffs with a 27-0 victory. Calhoun had touchdowns on the day from four different players. Bryson Swisher (22yards), Carper Summers (3), Braxton Carter (2) and Raines Riddel (2) all scored rushing touchdowns.
The B team game was next to be played and Calhoun was able to get a 45-6 win. This victory locked in the #2 seed for the Little Red Devils. Josh Hardbarger had 3 rushing touchdowns (4, 47 and 44 yards), and Brantley Schoolcraft added 2 rushing touchdowns (32 and 37). Jase Farley (39) and Judd Helmick (32) were also able to reach the end zone with rushing scores as well.
The final game of the day was a 32-0 victory by the Little Red Devils A team. This game also secured Calhoun with the #2 seed in the upcoming playoffs. Benley Snodgress (1 and 1 yards) and Wyatt Lawson (68 and 46) each scored 2 rushing touchdowns. Calhoun also added a 43 yard passing touchdown when Braydon Hardway was on the receiving end of a Liam Yeager pass.
Next week is the final game of the regular season and Calhoun will host Webster county on Sunday October 8th. Flag game will start at noon, C Team will play at 1 pm. B and A team games will follow. Calhouns C team has playoff seeding at stake. With a win against Webster County, Calhoun will secure the #3 seed in the playoffs. This will be the final home game of the season, so if you are free come out and watch some football as well as support our cheerleaders.
