A Complaint filed in Calhoun Magistrate Court by Deputy C.R. Stephens, stated that on December 12th, 2025, Albert Campbell, Isaac Carter and another individual believed to be Carter parked in the ParMar (Big Bend) parking lot in a manner not usually done, and which would facilitate a quick retreat. All three individuals entered the store. Traven Carter distracted the clerk while Isaac Carter kept lookout and Albert
Campbell stole two cartons of cigarettes from the cabinet near the register. Campbell shoved the cigarette cartons
down his pants as he went towards the back of the store. Campbell and Traven Carter exited the building and got in
the vehicle with Isaac Carter driving, circled the gas pumps and pulled in front of the door so Albert Campbell could
quickly enter the vehicle before their departure. All this was captured on video surveillance. The total amount stolen
was valued a t $177.53.
Identities of the suspects were developed through contacting the vehicle owner and speaking to Campbell over the phone. Campbell and Isaac Carter’s driver’s license photos seem to match the suspects in the surveillance video. Campbell advised me that they had come to Calhoun to attend the funeral of Ethan Jarvis. Deputy CR Stephens was able to confirm that Traven Carter was friends with Jarvis through his investigation.
Campbell is known to have a long criminal history of drug charges and shoplifting charges and is currently on a long period of probation out of Wood County, West Virginia. Stephens requested a warrant for shoplifting and conspiracy:
Campbell is currently incarcerated in the WV Central Regional Jail. His bond is set at $2,500 and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for February 18th, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.
Dang. Two cartons of cigs $177. People are crazy to still smoke. Glad i quit cold turkey seven years ago. A waste of time and money. And its not cool anymore in case you didn’t figure it out yet.
