
Charles Raymond “Charlie” Bollinger, 77, of Washington, West Virginia, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025.
He was born February 4, 1948, on Pine Creek, West Virginia, a son of the late Raymond and Lucy Starcher Bollinger.
On February 1, 1988 Charlie retired from the United States Air Force after having served more than two decades.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Mae “Patty” McCartney Bollinger. Also preceding him in death are siblings: Don Bollinger, Geneva Hamric, and Kenny Bollinger.
Patricia Mae “Patty” McCartney Bollinger, 75, of Washington, West Virginia, passed away January 22, 2024. She was born October 7, 1948, in Grantsville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Orlen and Opal Hayhurst McCartney. Patty was a devoted mother and wife, she worked for various retailers on base during her husband’s military career.
Also preceding her in death are siblings: Carolyn Postalwait and Virginia Erlewine.
Left to cherish Charlie and Patty’s memory is their son and daughter in law, Charles Jason Bollinger and Melody Jane Bollinger. Their grandchildren Jason Tyler Bollinger and Tara Nicole Bollinger, and many other family and friends.
A memorial visitation for Charles and Patricia for family and friends will be held at Spreading Truth Ministries, 1093 Core Rd., Parkersburg, WV 26104, on August 28, from 6pm to 7pm, with Pastor Ralph Tisdale officiating.
A joint memorial service will be held for Charles and Patricia at Stump Funeral Home &
Cremation, Inc., 107 Market St., Grantsville, WV 26147, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Memorial visitation of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Interment of Charles and Patricia will follow the service at St. Paul Cemetery, Mt.
