An unidentified male’s decomposed body was discovered this afternoon, July 16th, 2024 in the area of Route 33/119. The matter is under investigation and will be followed up regarding the identity or other circumstances surrounding the ordeal. According to the Agenda for a special meeting of the Calhoun County Board of Education on July 31st, Michael Fitzwater is to be appointed Superintendent of Calhoun County Schools effective August 7th, 2023 through June 30th, 2024.
