Creston News

Some Creston folks attended the big annual fireman’s event in Elizabeth while others participated in the Mid Ohio Valley Trump Train activities.

The Creston area received some much needed rain and the river is now muddy.  Some trees were blown down.

The comely Kim was visiting her mother Wilma Mowrey.  They attended a family reunion.

J. P. & A. C. Marks were calling at the Creston Space Dock.

The Creston Neighborhood Watch had a litter pickup which resulted in 12 bags of trash, 2 which were aluminum cans that were recycled.

The other day some folks were in a driveway and when asked what they were doing there was a story about fishing and getting into the nettles.  Of course, Little Creek is not really where one goes to land the slungers, so well.  Also certain vehicles go up and down the road for no real reason, back & forth.  Best lock one’s vehicles and be careful.  Also it was reported that Creston now has some “state of the art” cameras.  It was noted that one “can zoom in and count the cigarette buts in the ashtray.”  License plates are easy.  Perhaps, matters can be resolved fairly soon.

The electric company sprayed the right-of-way along W. Va. 5 as one goes to Burning Springs making quite an eyesore as well as providing lots of material so local folks can get their exposure.  Some fine blackberries were ruined as well.

Those with funds to invest can go to the tax sale on the 10th in Beckley & purchase Gov. Justice’s lands.  He wants to represent us in the U. S. Senate where folks go to get rich.

The US Supreme court in the “Chevron” case put an end to 40 years of federal agencies “enacting laws” that congress never passed.  Some of the liberals are having a conniption fit.

It was reported that the price of natural gas dropped down in Virginia where the MVP (Mountain Valley Pipeline) ends and that prices in West Virginia went up.  Equinor, f/k/a Statoil/Norsk Hydro paid $1.28 which Antero was circa $1.70 while the Henry Hub (Louisiana) price is $2.42/MMBTU.

Nancy Engelke attended her Granddaughter, Rebecca Rhodes, wedding to Jake Moore in Hickory North Carolina and got to visit with several of her relatives including Rick & 
Amy Rogy of Illinois who gave Nancy an update on Amy’s mother Judy Martin who lives in Arizona.  Stan Whittaker had the time of his life as he got to ride on a jet ski. Family members enjoyed Lake Hickory, swimming and boat riding as well.  

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is $81.81/bbl. With condensate, formerly called Appalachian light sweet fetching$63.81/bbl. with Marcellus & Utica light bringing $70.81/bbl.
