Creston News: As well as Drug Raids, Wood County BOE Issues & Oil and Gas News

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Everett Leo Hopkins, age 86,of Brooksville passed away.  He had worked for Cabot Oil & Gas.  He was a descendant of William Rodman Hopkins who was a soldier in the War of 1812.  William Rodman Hopkins was married to Nancy Ann Oakley, daughter of George Oakley, who was one of those who helped corner Cornwallis at Yorktown.

Russell Glenn “Rusty” Snyder, age 76, passed away on December 3.  He had been a long time employee of the Boy’s Club in Parkersburg.  He was the son of Glenn Snyder & Juanita Tucker Snyder Moody.

Nancy Wright who had been staying with family in Creston after her home in Florida was destroyed by the hurricane is now visiting family in Columbus.  She hopes to return to the sunny south sometime.

A big crowd was on hand Saturday at the Creston Community Building on occasion of a visit by a jolly fellow from the polar region, along with his wife.  The younger set seemed happy to get presents from the red suited gentleman. There was also a “belly buster” meal with Ted Grim’s special ham(s) 3 turkeys and all the trimmings.  Some helped out by peeling potatoes for the mashed potatoes that, for sure, were real, not out of a box.  Linda Devries held the attention of the little ones while she told the story of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem as the Old Testament prophets had said would occur & what such meant to us.

Lanny & Sue Meadows are both on the sick list with Dr. Fauci’s gain of function Wuhan Kung Flu virus.  Others are also on the sick list.

The comely Kim was calling on Wilma Mowrey.

Some area oil & gas wells were shut in because of a problem at Warren Buffet’s Hastings fractionation plant at Pine Grove in Wetzel County.  Repairs were made and compressors were allowed to again send natural gas to market.

Riley Moore who is the W. Va. State Treasurer announced that he is running for congress.  He had formerly worked for the Podestas in Washington.  He stated that he was a friend of the big oil & gas companies that are currently making a fortune in W. Va. ‘s world class Marcellus & Utica formations.  One of the big players sent a “flat rate” lease to a local woman who had inherited property in Wetzel County.  Flat rate leases in W. Va. were outlawed in 1982.  The lease was for 14% net when the going rate should be 25% gross. The lease also required that the mineral owners give up her constitutional rights to trial by jury.  Makes one wonder.  Baldy Blair had a law passed that if she doesn’t sign she can be force pooled under the terms set by others.  As they say money talks and we have the best money can buy.

Mac Warner has stated that he is making a big decision next month & that folks should be there to watch & participate.

County commissioner elect John Griffin attended another training session down at the Mouth of the Elk.

It is reported that an investigation is continuing in the theft of a 14 foot aluminum trailer from the Ground Hog neighborhood.  There are some very good clues.

Those who have been on the Creston ATV poker runs are familiar with the big green building known as the “Magic Shop” out on Fairview Ridge between the Mt. William & Fairview churches. It seems that there was a big raid out there last month by folks who hauled away records & such in black vehicles.  Mark Bacher & “an Asian lady” were said to be living at the facility.  Bacher was involved in a raid in Kanawha County where over 400 lb. of drugs & over $50,000 in cash was seized.  Then there were raids involving prostitution in Marietta & Parkersburg involving illegal alien young girls who could not speak English.  According to the Spencer newspapers the building is now going to be used for a grow site by Blue Ridge Botanicals said to be based in Houston.

The wizards at the Dept. of Highways have announced that they year, with more money to spend, there will be lots of canopy cutting, that is cutting down trees and cutting off limbs that might be over or near a state road. Thus, they will be able to hire more of their out of state buddy contractors and say that it makes the black top last longer as there is no shade.  The old story used to be, “Well, we’ll cut down the trees so that the sun will dry out the mud holes”.  Take it from one who was in the hot sun working to get the vehicle out of the mudhole while the sun beat down.  These fine men never did any road work but maybe they watched a lot of Sling Tee Vee.

In the Netherlands 3000 family farms are being taken away by the government to “comply” with “global warming” shut down schedules, taking away farms that have been in families for generations & sometimes centuries.  Holland had been a major exporter of foods but such seems to be of no consequence as one must worship the “new religion”.  Now both Germany & Canada are proposing stopping the use of fertilizer which means that crop yields will plummet. Now, it seems nitrogen is bad even though about 80% of the earth’s atmosphere is nitrogen.  Apparently, they didn’t hear about the disaster that happed in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) when fertilizer was banned.  The New World Order folks have said that there are too many people & that the ideal world population should be 500 million not 8 billion.  Pestilence, vaccines, war & famine are all ways to “make that happen”.  The W. Va. ruling elites have no interest in utilizing the abundant & cheap natural gas available here to make fertilizer in West Virginia.  Apparently lacks glamour.  A recent study of northern Greenland found that 2 million years ago in what is now an arctic desert there was a boreal forest filled with game and there were no internal combustion engines, coal fired power plants, etc. to make the earth warmer. Oh, all these inconvenient facts. Al Gore Jr. hadn’t yet invented the internet & global warming.

Paul Hardesty, president of the W. Va. State Board of Education, was the speaker at the [Sen. Donna} Boley breakfast.  He drew a large crowd & gave a very educational presentation telling all there “how it really works” which, he noted, was not good.  He is not allowed to talk to the employees there as he might offend and then be sued and most of them feel that they answer to no one & do not want the boat rocked.  That is likely why Sen. Patricia Rucker was removed from the Education Committee in the W.Va. State Senate.  Old Baldy got too much heat from the educrat establishment which includes Randi Weingarten, all of  whom want to keep the gravy train on track.  Some Wood County folks gave him copies of books that certainly are not “age appropriate” that talk about & have pictures that would offend most adults.  He indicated that he would ask questions [and get answers].  He is allowed to talk with the State Supt. of Schools who can than ask the apparently  entitled underlings without being sued.  Apparently some in the Wood County establishment took offence at being outed and called the concerned citizens “book banners” & bigots.

Because of warmer than usual weather and the continued outage of one of the major LNG export facilities in Louisiana the NYMEX future price of Natural gas was $5.58/mmbtu.  For sake of comparison the  average price of natural gas going to east Asia was $31.01/mmbtu while molecules going to Hollard at the Title Transfer Facility {TTF) rose to $40.01/mmbtu.  It should be rather obvious why EQT wants to send all their gas to LNG exports.  No doubt they can easily explain why the folks here should not share in this price bonanza.

As a reflection of the turbulent economic times [the senile one said it isn’t a recession] the price of local Pennsylvania grade crude fell to $70.02/bbl. with condensate or super mountain high test fetching only $54.01/bbl. with Marcellus & Utica light bringing $61.02 & medium $70.02/bbl.  In places gasolene is now less than $3/gallon or $126/bbl.
