Denise, down at the Shade Tree, announced that they will be advertising on WBRC during football games that they have pizza and that Denise makes the dough herself making for the best around. Cash Bunner had a friend calling on him the other day. On Sunday Denise’s cooked cabbage & pork chops and they were great.
Cap’n & Mrs. Spock motored to Ohio Amish country with the Elizabeth Senior Citizens.
The Wirt road crew mowed W. Va. 5 all the way to the Calhoun County line. With the dead sprayed vegetation cut down the road looks well maintained.
It was reported that Rusty Hutson Jr.’s big trucks (Next LVL) broke down a bridge on Sycamore causing the road to be closed. Now the report is that the small structure (as per state road guidelines) will not be repaired or replaced. It would seem that no one of “any consequence” lives there. Fixing destroyed bridges, even when the cause is known, apparently is not “core maintenance”. A fellow who lives a county to the north reported that the road crew in his neighborhood sprayed & killed the wild flowers in his neighborhood.
Speaking of Hutson and his Diversified Gas & OIl he reported that the firm’s second quarter profit was $303 million. Perhaps now they can answer letters that are sent to the company.
Kathleen Cervone & Barbara Wright were visiting up in Ohio.
Folks are reminded that the Farm Use reports are due in the county assessor’s office before the end of the month. Also in August there is a discount on taxes which are now due.
PJM the outfit that oversees electric distribution in several area states reported that the recent electric capacity auction was $329.17/megawatt/day. 45% of electric now comes from natural gas, 21% from nuclear plants, 22% from coal plants, 4% from hydro power, 3% from wind and 1% from solar panels. There was no report on the volume produced from Pixie Dust, the favorite of the green weenies.
Hope Gas, one of the Rockefeller flagship companies announced that they were going to build a pipeline and supply fuel for an AEP (American Electric Power) facility for “the new stuff” in central Ohio. Apparently, nothing is in the works for West Virginia as some want us to be only an energy colony for other nations. Rockefeller had the policy that he would spend $1,000 to make sure a farmer didn’t get $1 that he was due. Gotta keep ’em poor and begging. Some former & present state senators come to mind.
Enron, a/k/a EOG [Enron Oil & Gas] which was called Belco when drilling in W. Va. Just completed the purchase of Encino for $5.6 billion. Encino has Ohio Utica oil shale property & wells.
The UK’s Financial Times noted that OPEC is trying to “slow” the Marcellus & Utica in America. The newspaper noted that to break even the drillers had to sell oil for $65/bbl. Currently West Texas Intermediate fetches $63.32/bbl. Local Pennsylvania grade crude is $61.80/bbl. With condensate fetching $43.80/bbl. And Marcellus & Utica light bringing $50.80/bbl.
30% of energy produced in the nation is exported including 55% of the crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs) with 55% of the NGLs going to China. What is the excuse now for no new ethane crackers? Are W. Va. “leaders” answering to some other nation?
