Creston News Week of March 17th

Rev. Kevin Gillespie filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Spring continues in Creston with thunder, lightening, hail, rain & power outages.  Julia Joyce’s daffodils are at their peak and henbit, chickweed, hairy bittercress and other spring flowers add color to the landscape.  Soon ramps should be up.

The Wirt road crew used the long arm mower to trim up the road banks around Creston.  A good job was done.

Steve Loudin was consulting with his medical experts and was attending to business in Elizabeth.

Nancy Engelke is sore from head to toe after her chariot, in which she was a passenger, got crunched up in Ohio.  She was spared from a much worse result as the vehicle had damage both in front and behind her door.

The Creston ATV Poker run will be Saturday, April 26 at the Creston Community Building.  Those who want to work setting up the route should come the previous Saturday (April 19).

Neither Fred nor Betty Bish are doing well.

Some local folks are spending some time over in Doddridge County.

Butch Deer’s crew hauled some crude oil from the Richardsonville Road one day last week.

Trout Unlimited used to be an environmental group but, apparently, it was taken over by government grifters.  DOGE found that the group was to get $180 million in taxpayer funds but such was thwarted and now there are some unhappy folks.[How can I make my yacht payment?]

Expand Energy (formerly operating in W. Va. As SWN or Southwestern) recently drilled a 5.6 mile(29,687 feet) lateral in the Utica in Ohio County in just five days.

CNX, one of the Rockefeller companies, announced that they were no longer part of the ARCH 2 Hydrogen hub which, it is reported, is “in limbo” as there is a new direction in federal government spending.  It was noted that if the use of hydrogen as a fuel was realistic then there would be no need for government subsidies.

There is lots of news in the Rockefeller family’s Hope Gas proposal to abandon over 1000 miles of gas gathering lines including those in the Creston area.  On March 25 at 6 P. M.at the Ellenboro  City hall (the old school house) there will be a public meeting, the closest one for locally impacted residents & businesses.  There will be meetings in Morgantown, Clendenin, Flatwoods, Phillipi, Ripley, West Union, Farmington, Buckhannon & New Martinsville.  It was announced that one can see maps showing the lines to be abandoned and folks are urged to attend the meetings.  It was noted that the events are scheduled while the legislature is still in session to keep pesky delegates & state senators away.

At the last meeting in Grantsville the Hope men said the lines could be given away to anyone who wanted them but when a producer offered to take them all, well, uh, ah l . . . . . . . A legal notice in the Calhoun Chronicle states that there will be a hearing at the PSC (W. Va. Public Service Commission) office in Charleston on May 14, starting at 9:30 concerning a proposal by Rusty Hutson Jr.’s Diversified Midstream taking over all of the lines Mother Hope proposes to abandon.  Meanwhile Mother Hope is out and about wanting folks who are domestic customers on those lines to convert to propane or electric heat.

CNN’s climate “expert” Bill Weir was shown to be a complete fraud the other day when he claimed that the Trump administration was making up reports with four zeros and letters.  Turns out there was news about the EPA regulations under the “clean air act” Section 111 involving the “Quad O” rules that impact oil & gas producers, such as OOOOa, OOOOb, etc. Welcome to the real world!

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude is $66.18/bbl. With condensate fetching just $48.18/bbl. & Marcellus & Utica light bringing $55.18/bbl.  January gas on the DTI (Mother Hope) system fetched $2.7192 while the NYMEX price for April gas was $4.089/MMBTU.
