In the Valley of Arnoldsburg, long has been the tradition of the making of sorghum molasses. The Festival itself has been celebrated in late September since 1967 and continues to be a much anticipated event by not only the citizens of Arnoldsburg, but all of Calhoun County.
The three day event wraps up today with an early start of the kitchen crew, opening for breakfast at 8 a.m.
The Livestock show will begin at 8:30 p.m. in the new Livestock barn located on the right as you cross the bridge onto Spring Run.
At 9 a.m. the Country Store, Dime Toss, Baloon Darts, Duck Pond and vendors will be open for business.
Entertainment for the day kicks off at 10 a.m.
The Battle All Stars will perform at 10 a.m. under the direction of instructors Elacea Hamilton and Francis Eagle.
If you’re starting to get hungry, Chicken BBQ will begin to be served at 11 a.m. in the Main building.
Look for WVRC from Noon until 4 p.m. who will be broadcasting the Festivities live .
The Grand Parade will begin at 1 p.m making it’s way from the Arnoldsburg Elementary School to the Arnoldsburg Park. Entertainment continues after the Parade with The Johnny Staats Project at 1:30 p.m.
Following the parade the Lions Club Bingo will begin.
Battle All Stars Elite will perform once again at 2 p.m.
The 4-H Live Stock Sale starts at 4 p.m. at the Live Stock Barn.
At 4 p.m. Jim Forshey as Elvis will perform and will offer autographs following the show.
Get your partner rounded up for Square Dancing with Mack Samples and Music by Rick Falls and Friends at 6:30 p.m. and enjoy the rest of the evening visiting folks and enjoying what the Festival has to offer.
