Earth, Wind and Fire… Grantsville VFD has three minor Incidents to Address

While the grass in the image above barely looks scorched, it was reported as a brush fire on Munday Road off of Route 5 West causing the dispatch of the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department. From the evidence found on scene it was likely an exploding tire from a vehicle that rolled onto the dry grass, catching it on fire or smoldering.

A second call of a tree across utility lines and Route 16 just South of Grantsville City limits, caused the dispatching of Grantsville to open up the road. And then a third call for a Landing Zone at Minnie Hamilton Health Care System kept the Grantsville Fire department busy. While none of those calls would be considered dangerous or hero status, the fact of the matter is our community depends on volunteers to be there when needed and they are. Grantsville, Arnoldsburg and the West Fork are blessed to have men and women who are committed to keeping the community safe and taking time from their own busy lives to show up when needed. Able bodied volunteers are always welcome to join these departments.
