Ernestine Keaton Obituary

Ernestine Keaton, 86, of Orma, W. Va., died Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at her home after an extended illness.

She was born March 18, 1937, at Little White Oak, Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha West Brannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Delnor Keaton, whom she married December 29, 1955; son, Kenneth Vance Keaton; sisters, Orpha Cottrell, June Miller, Leatha Simons and Mary Ann Rouse; brother, Howard Brannon.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Karla Keaton-Stiffler and Terry Stiffler of Henderson, Nev.; granddaughter, Emily Keaton of Jonesboro, Ark.; caregivers and friends, Tom and Theresa Resko, whom she loved and considered as her children; the Resko children, Brittany, Katlynn, Jessica, Savanna, Theresa II, Amanda and Stephanie, who also assisted with her care and were considered and loved as her grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Ernestine was a beautician and owner of her own beauty shop. She taught cosmetology classes in W.Va, was a member of the Minnora Rebekah Lodge No. 8, Minnora and also had a chauffeur license, which she was very proud of.

Her pastimes included CB radios, listening to southern gospel music and gardening.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 7 at 12:00 p.m. at the MinnoraCemetery, Minnora, with Pastor Robert “Bob” Shannon officiating.
