Frances L. Starkey, 87, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was reunited with her beloved husband Fred A. Starkey on December 4, 2024.
She was born on March 28, 1937, to the late Mamie and Orval McCollum. She grew up in a loving home with her four siblings John “Jack” (Pam), Robert (deceased), Samuel (deceased), and Shirley (deceased). Frances was a dedicated medical professional who worked at Fairview General Hospital for over twenty years. Her caring nature and kind smile touched many lives. Frances loved to quilt, crochet, garden, and play cards. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was the mother to Sherllyn (Jerome), Timothy (Suzanne), and Kathy (Mark), the grandmother to Kyle (Caitlyn), Kaylie (Richie), Ben, and Nicole (John), and the great-grandmother to Natalie, Brianna, and Avery, with Lilly due in January.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc. Grantsville, on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
