Gaylen’s Pick for Trump’s VP

Tulsi Gabbard!!!

Tulsi Gabbard???

Tulsi Gabbard is my choice for President Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick. I think she would be a great choice and that’s despite all the negatives the democrats, mainstream media, deep staters and RINOs (Republican In Name Only) will dig up to besmirch her name should President Trump pick her.

Of course, President Trump is not going to consult with me before choosing a vice president nor will the national, state or even the local Republican Executive Committee.

But it doesn’t matter since she is my choice.

There are dozens of good people who could join President Trump on the Republican ticket. There are people like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

Any of those people would be a good choice and all would be a much better choice that democrat vice president Kamala Harris. Just about anybody would be a better pick than Harris down to and including me. But if I don’t want to run for mayor here in Grantsville, I sure don’t want to run for vice president.

On the other hand, however, is Gabbard.

She would be a great choice despite what people will dig up as her faults.

First, she used to be a democrat. As a matter of fact she was a democratic congressman from Hawaii. But she dropped out of the party to become independent.

Secondly, she is a Hindu. But that should not matter since we have elected non-Protestants to office before including John F. Kennedy a Catholic as president and several Muslims to congress. As a society we still have a certain religious bias, but we are becoming tolerant enough as a society to accept people of different religions.

Third, she had liberal leanings.

So what when I was younger I was a liberal democrat. You couldn’t call me that anymore. Not even close. People change.

What convinced me that Gabbard has changed was what she said on her decision to leave the democrat party.

When she announced she was leaving the democrat party on October 12, 2022, Gabbard said: “I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war,”

By golly she gets it.

And that is enough for me.

Speaking at the CPAC meeting a few days ago she showed her support for President Trump and her disdain for the liberal left democrat party:

“Today we see the democrat elite leaders say, with great concern in their voice, that if the American people elect Donald Trump again, they warn us, he will destroy our democracy.

“They say he will be the dictator-in-chief, that if he’s elected it will be the last election this country sees. It’s laughable. This is so crazy, it’s laughable. They’re justifying their actions by telling themselves that they need to destroy our democracy in order to save it. It’s lunacy and it’s the mindset and mentality of dictators. They are waging a multi-front battle and they will stop at nothing until they’re successful.”

I think I have heard somebody else say that before.

Who was it?

Oh, that’s right me.

And President Trump.

How does Gabbard view the President?

She said in the CPAC speech:

“I’ve had the chance to meet with him and speak with him at length, and I’ve seen firsthand his heartfelt interactions with friends of mine, veterans, and I’ve seen how he has touched their hearts and moved them to tears as he expressed his appreciation for their service and their sacrifice. No cameras, no crowds. Just that heartfelt conveyance of appreciation.

“I’ve gotten a sense for what motivates him and it’s got nothing to do with what the Washington establishment is accusing him of. This is a man who’s a fighter, his strength and resilience can only come from one place. His ability to endure this much can only come from one place, a sincere love and concern for the future of our country and his care for the American people.”

Both she and President Trump are what we need now – somebody who loves our country.

And they do.

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE: I got my water bill from the Town of Grantsville and I, as I have heard other people say, was rather shocked.

Why?

Well, it said I used 17,000 gallons of water. I feared I had a terrible leak. But I didn’t. The needle wasn’t moving on my meter so there was no leak.

I called the town and asked if they had estimated before and was just catching up and, yes, they had when we had the big snow a while back and that was understandable. But 17,000 gallons? They said they would look into I and get back with me. I trust they will.

Right now the town is asking for rate increases and there may be great reasons for he higher rates. I have not looked into it.

But if they do raise the rates, I hope they can do it incrementally unlike the all-at-once rate increase of the sewer rates.

My biggest complaint with the town is they have not planted any Ginkgo trees like they had said after they cut the two 100-year-old Ginkgo trees on Main Street down.

That is still a mistake and not planting replacement Ginkgo trees only compounds it.

QUICK SPORTS: Congratulations to the Gilmer County High School girls basketball team and any other area teams that have reached the state tournament.

Way to go!!!

Until next time stay safe but don’t live your life in a bubble.
