Thanksgiving Blessings to You!
This Thanksgiving morning I found myself nearly finished reading the book of Proverbs on my Journaling journey through the Bible. I journaled the very well known scripture “Iron sharpeners iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”

Whether or not you care for me, I want you to know that I care for you. I’m thankful for whatever efforts you have put in to reading, following and commenting (in agreement or not) to the Ridgeview News.
I’ve not published as much this week as I normally do. It’s been a week of gathering my thoughts into a heap and sorting them out… casting aside the ones that I deemed unhealthy and trying to nourish my soul with the goodness of the others. I highly recommend it.
The words of Solomon this morning reminded me that the company I keep and the words I share can sharpen or dull the senses. I hate discouragement. Discouraging people, (for which there seems no shortage), grind on my soul until it is so tender and painful I struggle to move forward.
Being the bearer of bad news as often as I am, also wears me down. Over the past few days I’ve discovered more bad news about the antics of county officials and I’m working to share that over the next few days. But today I just wanted to be grateful.
Grateful for the God given opportunity to be a source of light in a dark world. I know the news isn’t always good, but it’s always honest and not without consideration and prayer for those I write about. Whether or not you are a person of faith, I pray you can appreciate the fact that I hold myself accountable to the Lord Jesus; that I write from a place of knowing I will stand before Him some day and answer for every word spoken or written.
Matthew 12:36 KJV
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
So shall we all.
Today I pray that you are in a place of Thanksgiving. I pray you know you are loved and that if you are struggling you’ll believe that as I closed out this article, I prayed for you. I prayed for all the circumstances of your life, that God would strengthen you for any battle and help you to grow in His wisdom and understanding. A lot of things in this world don’t make sense, but God can grant peace even in the roughest of waters if we trust in Him.
God Bless,
