
Jackie Lynn “Jack” Smith, 69, of Perkins. WV; departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Saturday, August 30, 2025 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born January 8, 1956 in Sutton, WV; son of the late Charles and June (Stout) Smith.
Jack is a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at Normantown. He worked at Kinney Shoe Factory in Glenville for 13 years and then Union Carbide/ Dow Chemical in the Charleston area for over 30 years, having retired in 2023. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and his faithful dog, Gertrude.
On August 30, 1974 Jack was united in marriage to Paula (Jenkins) Smith who survives at their Perkins home.
Along with his wife, Jack is survived by his loving son, Jesse Smith and wife Tanya of Roanoke, WV; and 2 sisters, Debbie Seelig and husband David of Oklahoma, and Charlene McKinley of Fairmont, WV.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Jaelyn, Julia, Jamison, and Journee, 2 aunts, Brenda and Iona, numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents (Charles and June), Jack is preceded in death by his son, Jamie Smith, brother, Daniel Smith, and his twin sister, Judy Smith.
The families request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of Jack’s life will be conducted at a later date.
