Jimmie McCormick, 90, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at WVU Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born June 20, 1935, near Spencer, WV, a son of the late Elwood and Dollie Ayers McCormick.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandparents George and Ada Sinnett Ayers and O. C. And Effie Stalnaker McCormick; sisters Shirley Moore and Darlene Cisco; brother Walter McCormick; aunts and uncles Aline McDonald, Roy and Bonnie McCormick Lee, Clyde and Della McCormick, Ernest and Edith McCormick, Buster and Wuanitta Smith, Goldie Mitchell, and Jenette and Arlie Henthorne; grandson Dustin McCormick; and foster-son Jerry Jones.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Yoak McCormick, their sons Douglas and Dwayne McCormick both of Grantsville, WV; grandchildren Jeremy, Julie, Jody, Kera, Larissa, and Crystal; sisters Barbara Daugherty and Loretta Jo Morrison, brother Steve McCormick; foster children and their families who were very dear to him, Betty Jones (Jerry Jones, Jr., Katie Jones, Makayla Jones, Caden Jones, Rustyn and Lynlee Grose), Terry Bea (Felicia Blake and Kayla Morris), and Willie Jones.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home, 1440 Arnoldsburg Road, Arnoldsburg, WV 25234, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating.
