First Baptist Church of Grantsville held their very first “Journey to Bethlehem”, telling the story of the Savior’s Birth through Scripture, song and costumed biblical characters on a pathway through Grantsville.
Those attending the event wound their way from First Baptist Church, where they received their map to a visit with the Wisemen, registering for the census in the Town of Grantsville’s office, meeting with the Shepherds (and the cutest little lamb) who shared their kettle corn, receiving a message from four angels on the Courthouse porch, and then on to the Nativity at the Senior Citizens building. The final stop was at the Calhoun Chronicle office where Melissa took friend and family photos, provided a snack and a memorable gift for those attending.
139 registered for the census on Saturday evening, and the event received wonderful comments and requests to do it again next year. Pastor Ron Chesser and Associate Pastor Rick Godfrey of First Baptist Church would like to thank the community for joining them in this special Christmas celebration and they wish the community a very Merry Christmas, praying the season and coming year is filled with peace and love in your home.
