Kevin Ray Starcher Obituary

Kevin Ray Starcher, 61, of Millstone, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly in his home November 6, 2025.

Kevin was born on June 14th, 1964, to his loving parents William and Phyllis Jett Starcher. The youngest of 4 siblings, Diana (Gene) Satterfield, Sherry (Gunn) and Kim (Robin), he showed early on he was clearly the most mischievous, not an easy task considering the competition. After graduating from Calhoun County High School in 1982 he proudly joined the Marines to serve his country for 6 years. He enjoyed travelling the globe so much so he’s reported to be barred from some parts of Europe to this day. After leaving the Marines he held many titles from working construction to working at The Calhoun Chronicle. Kevin was always creative as can be witnessed by looking at his many contraptions and inventions on his farm. Not only was he creative mechanically but extremely gifted in the arts as well, from charcoal drawing to sculpting. He loved critical thinking and wouldn’t shy away from telling you about any numbers of objects he’s seen shooting across the sky up on his mountain. With all of that said his real passion was family, especially his daughters Amelia (Jeremy) and Caitlin (Ryan) who made him a very proud grandfather of Gabriella, Maggie and Harper. Kevin would help anyone that would ask whether it was digging a water line or taking your kids to school if you had to work. He will leave a large hole in the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will be forever carried in our souls.
