Larry D. Kennedy, 84, of Millstone, WV; departed this earthly life in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the WVU United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV; following an extended illness.
He was born, December 19, 1940 in Normantown, WV; son of the late Ferrell and Hazel (James) Kennedy.
Larry was a machinery set up man for General Motors with 25 years’ experience. He attended church at the Upper Steer Run Baptist Church and the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Normantown and the Dawson Baptist Church near Glenville. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, reading and watching Cleveland Indians Baseball.
On March 2, 1963 Larry was united in marriage to Alice Joann (Moss) Kennedy, who survives at their Millstone home.
Surviving is his son, Larry R. Kennedy and wife Marlena of Mt. Claire, WV; and 2 grandsons, Kelvin and Morgan Kennedy of England.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents (Ferrell and Hazel), Larry is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Kenneth Kennedy, Nora White, Colleen Cox, Patty Weese, and Nina Hagy.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, September 28, 2025 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedarville Cemetery in Cedarville, WV. Friends will be received from 1:00 – 2:00 PM; Sunday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
