A home owned by Jack and Janet Marks, at 12655 South Calhoun Highway, Route 33/119, with Alex Marks residing in it, was a total loss over night due to fire and water damage.

Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 10:46 p.m. Sunday evening to a house fire, and when they arrived on scene fire was already coming through the roof. Chief Joe Tanner said that they were relatively sure it was electrical in nature and started in the attic of the house.

Both Stations 200, Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department and 300, West Fork Volunteer Fire Departments responded to battle the blaze, with Station 200 returning to scene at 3:13 a.m. for a rekindle. The final time in this morning was 5:07 a.m. making for a long night for many of the firefighters who also have daytime jobs.

Chief Joe Tanner said this was the maiden voyage for their Station’s newly acquired truck.
