
Michael David “Mike” Cutright, 59, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at his place of employment, The Sue Morris Sports Complex in Glenville.
He was born October 25, 1965 in Weston, WV; son of Mildred (Wyatt) Cutright of Glenville and the late William Arden Cutright.
Mike is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1985. He spent 25 years working for the Free Lance Star in Fredericksburg, VA; where he worked with the printing press. Mike was currently employed as a maintenance man for the Sue Morris Sports Complex, where he enjoyed spending time watching sports and connecting with people.
Mike is an avid runner, having ran track in High School and college for Gilmer County and Glenville State. He then continued that well into adulthood. He won several 5k runs in his time and had several wins in the local Folk Festival 5k. He was an avid football fanatic cheering on his favorite teams West Virginia University and the Dallas Cowboys.
In his spare time, Mike enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and he was a former member of the Cherry Fork United Methodist Church.
Along with his mother (Mildred), Mike is survived by 3 daughters, Brittany Cutright- Burnett of Pickens, SC; Heather Cutright of Winter Haven, FL; and Taylor Cutright of Hopewell, VA; and 4 siblings, Rondal Cutright of Sevierville, TN; Denny Cutright of Glenville, Linda Blount (Donn) of Fredericksburg, VA; and Carol Cutright of Glenville.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Noah Nalley, Autumn Burnett, Addisyn Cutright, and Maddilyn Hitt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his father (William Arden), Mike is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Debbie McHenry and Richard “Shorty” Cutright.
A visitation will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM; Sunday, October 12, 2025. Following visiting hours, Mike’s request for cremation will be honored and a celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date.
