On a stretch of South Calhoun Highway, Philips Run, where there had been a few recent projects taking place with tree and brush removal, I had become accustom to road work signs being in the highway. So as I journeyed through today, I didn’t think too much about the trucks lining the highway until I noticed a piece of equipment in the creek bed. Assuming it was an accident I stopped to question the workers and snap a few cell phone pics, but was informed ”The equipment was supposed to be there, it just was’t supposed to break down there.”
A machine that sets utility poles was driven over the bank and into place and then stopped working. A tow truck was necessary to remove the equipment and had the north bound lane shut down for some time this afternoon.
** UPDATE: A motorist driving by said that it caused quite the ”splash” when it was parked in the creek.
