Motorcyclists Flown from Wayne Underwood Field following Accident

Multiple crews from EMS and Fire work to load patient

A motorcycle driver and passenger, both in their seventies, were riding on Route 5 West coming toward Grantsville when, in navigation of a turn, his foot plate caught the pavement causing the Harley Davidson Bike to lay down; dragging both riders along the roadway and berm. Both sustained multiple injuries requiring life flights to be called, although neither appeared to have life threatening injuries.

Both Calhoun EMS and Minnie Hamilton reported to the scene to package the patients for transport to awaiting Health Net and Air EVac Helicopters, separate flights for each one. Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department was on scene for patient assistance and traffic control. State Police Officers, Tpr. Josh Richards and Sgt. Weekly were the investigating officers on scene.
