WVU-Roane County Extension Service is offering WV Private Pesticide Applicators recertification credit through Extension’s annual video-based program throughout December at the Roane County Extension Office. This program will be worth 5 credits and has been approved by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture for private applicators and categories 1, 11, and 12.
Private applicators must obtain 10 credits during a three-year period to keep their certification up-to-date. This program will be worth 5 credits and has been approved by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture for private applicators and categories 1, 11, and 12. To be eligible to receive 5 credits, applicators must watch all the videos and complete both the pre- and post-tests, which should take no more than two hours. An evening course will be arranged for Thursday, December 21, 2023, if applicators contact the WVU-Roane County Extension Office to request this service.
The video topics include how upcoming EPA changes will affect agricultural production, pollination and protecting pollinators, personal protection equipment, Verticillium wilt management, and control of black knapweed.
This program is free and open to the public, regardless of county residency and regardless if you currently hold a West Virginia private pesticide applicators license. Contact the WVU-Roane County Extension Office to sign-up for a time to view the video training during normal business hours, prior to December 31, 2023 for the local training or to obtain more information about how to become a West Virginia certified private pesticide applicator.
