In a press release from the Roane County Sheriff, Philip Dever, a person died during an incident on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. According to Sheriff Dever “the actions of the Roane County Deputy were warranted and appropriate and necessary. The West Virginia State Police are in charge of the investigation into the shooting and there was no further information released. Ridgeview News will continue to follow and update this story.
