
Roanna Lee McKee Stump, 83, of Grantsville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 13, 2025, at WVU Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkerburg, WV.
She was born September 11, 1941, in Spencer, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Rev. Glendon G. And Eupha D. Hicks McKee.
Roanna is a graduate of Calhoun County High School Class of 1959. She married John S. Stump September 16, 1961. Following graduation from Glenville State College with a degree in Education, she began her teaching career in a one-room school in Calhoun County followed by positions at Grantsville Grade School, Calhoun County High School, and Pleasant Hill Elementary. In the mid-1980’s she left teaching to join her husband in their family funeral home as Secretary/Office Manager until her retirement in the early 2000’s due to chronic health issues.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John S. Stump, an infant daughter, an infant granddaughter Holly R. Stump, son-in-law Tom Krugman, and her beloved dog Millie.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, J. Neil Stump (Gina) and Rhonda Krugman (fiancé Richard Butler); grandchildren Zachary Krugman (Courtney), Ethan Krugman (Alyssa), Emily Krugman (fiancé Jonah Law), Eli Stump (Makenzie Thomas), Isabella Stump (Cole Bartsch), and Levi Stump (Trista Arnold); great-grandchildren Kohlbi Noel Knicely, Addison Rae Krugman, Blayne Carson Stump, Blaine Thomas Krugman, and Landri Dean Stump; brother Rev. Roger G. McKee (Wilma), and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The Stump family would like to express their deep gratitude to Roanna’s incredibly kind and thoughtful caregivers over the years who became family and friends to her: Anita Vannoy, Mary Ann Tilton, Charlotte McDonald, the staff of Elizabeth Care Center, and the nursing staff of Camden Clark ICU.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 107 Market St., Grantsville, WV 26147, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Tim Davis officiating, and Rev. Roger McKee assisting. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville, WV.
