
In a complaint filed in Calhoun Magistrate Court on December 4th, 2025, Cpl. Brian E. Young stated that on December 4th, 2025, he was dispatched by Calhoun 911 to White Pine Road, Grantsville, WV for a report of Child abuse.
When he arrived at the home of Donna Roberts, multiple family members were inside the house. The witnesses inside the house informed Cpl. Young that they had arrived around 10:30 a.m. and discovered Donna Roberts laying in the floor of the living room in a heavily intoxicated state with her 13 month old infant. The infant was in the kitchen with nothing on but a shirt and a bruise on her cheek. A heavily soiled diaper was in the floor along with multiple empty alcoholic beverage cans in the floor around the accused and throughout the household. In the kitchen floor, where the infant was discovered was a blister packs of medicine and garbage. No one else was in the residence except for the accused and her infant.
Witnesses pointed out the bruise on the infants cheek and some marks on the infants back. The bruise / scrape appeared to be fresh on the cheek. The infant was transported to Minnie Hamilton Hospital for evaluation with no apparent life threatening injuries.
Witnesses stated the accused had advised them that she had driven to the gas station to purchase the alcohol and advised that she had left the infant at home because she was sleeping. The accused blew. Into the PBT which showed the accused BAC was .278%. When speaking to the officer the defendant appeared to have a slow response and a staggered walk.
Donna Marie Roberts was placed under arrest and transported to the WVSP detachment in Grantsville having been charged with “Gross neglect of child creating a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.” A property/surety bond of $15,000 was posted by the defendant and she was released.
On January 7th, 2026 a motion to revoke bond was filed by the Calhoun Prosecuting Attorney, Michael Hicks for a violation of bond conditions. Roberts was arrested and sent to the WV Central Regional Jail where she awaits trial on January 22nd, 2026 at 11:00 am in the court of Magistrate Lora Davis.















Doesn’t she work for the DHHR? Pretty sure she’s a case worker for children who are removed from abusive homes and placed into foster homes. I wonder if they’re gonna let her be her own case worker or if Loretta is gonna send her baby to Kentucky?
