The Calhoun County Commission met Friday, November 3rd in a special meeting at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of Establishing a Board for the Calhoun County Animal Shelter, which they determined an advertisement would be needed, and the hopes of appointing a board member for the Pleasant Hill PSD which did not occur because there were no applicants. The final matter of business was the striking and appointment of a Republican Commissioner to replace Matt Walker.
Commissioner Helmick was first to strike as the most tenured Commissioner, striking Eric Lupardus. The second strike came from Commissioner Craig Arthur, who struck Dennis Spaur, leaving Roger Propst as the last man standing and the new Republican Calhoun County Commission.
Following the appointment, Jeans Simers immediately swore Propst in making it official on this day, November 3, 2023.
