Route 33 Wrestling Returns to the Armory on Main St. in Spencer, WV this Saturday, July 9th!
Route 33 Wrestling is a Spencer, WV-based professional wrestling company owned and directed by stuntwoman and actor combatant Jessi McCumbers, aka. “The Boss Lady” JC.
McCumbers started Rt33W in 2018 following an accident and injury that forced her to the sidelines of the stunt and wrestling world. July 9th will be Rt33W’s eleventh live event since then, and their fifth in 2022.
Doors open at 6 PM with a 6:30 pre-show and a 7 PM bell-time.
Wrestlers making appearances include:
– “The Devine One” Olivia Devine. Devine made her Spencer, WV debut last month against Trixie, a formidable opponent with a love of sharp objects, and went on to become a crowd favorite.
– “All Natural” Ashley. Ashley will be making her first appearance at Rt33W in a singles bout against Olivia Devine. Ashley brings toughness and a mean attitude to her in-ring work; this is one match you won’t want to miss!
– Tristan St. Croix. We last saw St. Croix in tag team action last July. He is best known in Spencer as one half of The Good Guys, a tag team consisting of him and his partner, “Madd Dogg” Zack Myers. This time, St. Croix will return to battle it out in singles action against…
– “…Mr. By the Book” Gaston LaRue. LaRue’s first bout at Rt33W was in May 2022 against “Mr. 5-Star” Gary Gandy. Gandy may have gotten the win, but LaRue got the final word after Gandy tried to attack him post-bell. LaRue is not a fighter to underestimate.
– “The Notorious GMT” Gorgeous Morgan Taylor. Taylor is known for his flamboyant and outspoken demeanor in-ring, but he seems to have slipped into the shadows for the past month or so. Rumor has it he is secretly afraid of and avoiding his opponent….
– …Jeremy Rodriguez. Rodriguez is instantly recognizable by his killer dance moves and high-energy in-ring style. Rodriguez is also the only competitor to have beaten current Open Weight Champion AJ Alexander for the title (Alexander won his belt back just minutes after losing it). For the first time since March, Rodriguez will take on Taylor in what we can only suspect will become a grudge match; there’s no love lost between these two!
– Curtis Ray Goddi, aka CRG. CRG is not scheduled to compete this time, as he has not been medically cleared following a vicious assault by Gary Gandy last month. That said, he wants the fans to know he will be in attendance regardless. “I want the fans to see me and know that I may be down, but I’m not out.”
– Sinborn. This ruthless grappler made his first appearance at the Armory last month against John D Crazy Hillbilly. Not much is known about this man, but he recently sent a mysterious message to the wrestling fans of Spencer, WV: “Bow to your new master.”
– Creature Feature. On July 9th, the 2022 Tag Team Tournament will continue, featuring two never before seen competitors: Snakebite and Beefcake! Together, they form the tag team Creature Feature, and they will be going up against…
– …Tortuga Fuerte & Julian Blaze. These masked maniacs have made a splash at Rt33W before, but this is their first time teaming up to work together. Whatever happens, know that you will be thoroughly entertained by these two luchadors.
– “The Babushka Baron” Jeffrey John. May 2022 featured the long-awaited return of Jeffrey John to the Rt33W arena. John left it all in the ring in his title bout against AJ Alexander. He returns to the ring on July 9th, along with…
– “…The Mór of Irish Strong Style” Riley Rose. Rose has rapidly climbed the ladder of opportunity at Rt33W, becoming a fan favorite overnight. With high-risk maneuvers like moonsaults, swanton bombs, and Dublin Drivers at his disposal, he may just give the champion a run for his money. Speaking of champions….
– “…The King of King’s Road” AJ Alexander will defend his Rt33W Open Weight Championship in a triple threat against Jeffrey John and Riley Rose in July 9th’s main event! This match comes after Alexander defeated John in May, and attempted to remove the Big Starkz Brand sweat band from his ankle. Rose chased Alexander off, at which point John challenged Alexander.
Route 33 Wrestling’s events are family friendly, and the wrestlers are eager to engage with fans during intermission, including photo and autograph opportunities. Wrestlers also bring merchandise for fans to browse, including photos, stickers, t-shirts, and more!
Concessions will also be available! The menu for July 9th includes hot dogs, homemade sauce, nachos, chips, candy bars, popsicles, water, and pop for all fans to enjoy.
Following July 9th, there are just two Rt33W LIVE events remaining in 2022: August 6th and September 3rd. Advance tickets will be available at the show this Saturday, as well as on Eventbrite.com.
