A Friday afternoon, August 25th, accident in the 8,000 block of Russett Road, sent a passenger to the hospital with head injury and only resulted in minor injuries to the driver.
Dennis Ray Cottrill of Clarksburg reportedly swerved to miss a deer, lost control of the 2002 Ford F350 he was driving and slammed into the hillside with great enough force to do considerable damage. The passenger, Gregory Cummings, was transported to Minnie Hamilton Health system and later flown out for a head injury.
Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department, Minnie Hamilton Health System Ambulance and Westfall’s wrecker service responded to the accident.
