In a complaint filed by the West Virginia State Police Child Victim Unit, Jacob Daniel McCumbers was committed to WV Central Regional Jail at 8:05 a.m., Saturday, September 13th, 2025 having been charged with 50 (fifty) counts of Sexual Abuse by Parent, Guardian, Custodian, or Person of Trust.
Ridgeview News attended the arraignment this morning before Magistrate Richard Postalwait, who upon presenting the charges against McCumbers, was told by McCumbers that he would wait for an Attorney before determining whether or not to move forward with a Preliminary Hearing for Probable Cause to send the case forward in Calhoun Circuit Court.
The Preliminary hearing is currently scheduled. For October 2nd, 2025 at 9 a.m. in Calhoun Magistrate Court.
McCumbers bail, which was set at $100,000, has been posted and he was released on Home Confinement following his arraignment. Conditions of his home confinement are home incarceration with no contact with the victim, or juveniles in person or on social media. Permission to leave the residence can be obtained for church, business or medical reason through his home confinement officer. He is to have no firearms or un-reputable person at his home. A $50.00 confinement hookup fee was charged along with a $10 per day fee for the time on home confinement.
The complaint stated that a forensic interview was held by the WV State Place Child Victim Unit on September 12, 2025 where the victim stated that sexual abuse had occurred approximately 50 times over the course of several years.

Sometimes in life not taking up for any individual they possibly might have been on molested as a child plus with their maybe they have a mental illness such as fetish not taking up for the situation I just want everybody to open their eyes up and realize that some children growing up or molested and never told anybody and sometimes it’s a learned behavior as I said I’m not taking up for anybody whatsoever it sounds like a sad sad situation don’t anybody that can fix this is God it’s all pray
