
Stephen Dale “R-Buck” Marks, 70, of Millstone, WV; departed this earthly life in the mid-afternoon hours of Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Glenville Center Nursing Facility in Glenville, WV; following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born November 16, 1954 in Millstone, WV; son of the late Alfred W. “Fuzzy” Marks and Orla E. (Poling) Marks.
R-Buck is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country with honor and distinction. He also worked in the oil and gas industry, having worked almost every job in the oil fields. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, living the simple life in West Virginia, spending time outdoors, and he proudly marched to the beat of his own drum.
Surviving is his long-term Companion, Shirley Greathouse of Big Bend, WV; 2 sons, Steven Marks and Kholton Marks (Mandi) both of Potter, NE; and 7 siblings, Ernest “Ed” Marks (Audra) of Orma, WV; Olin “Dean” Marks (Sandra) of Arnoldsburg, WV; Joe B. Marks & companion Diane Sampson of Millstone, WV; Jack Marks (Janet) of Arnoldsburg, WV; Rick Marks (Roberta) of Spencer, WV; Danny “Nub” Marks (Shirley Ball) of Grantsville, WV; and Charmin Marks-Cash (Farris) of Millstone, WV; and a special niece, Leeann.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his mother (Orla) and his father (Alfred), R-Buck is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Goff, and 2 infant siblings, Junie Marks and Patty Sue Marks.
R-Bucks request for cremation has been honored and the family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank his niece, Leeann Wright who went out of her way to help R-Buck in any way he needed.
