
Timothy Ray Jenkins, 46, of Smithville, West Virginia, passed away on March 24, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Tim was born on December 6, 1979, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Ralph and Carolyn (McGuire) Jenkins.
He was a 1999 graduate of Ritchie County High School and dedicated 18 years of his life working for Nelson Tree Service. Tim was a hardworking man who took pride in his trade and the life he built through it.
Tim enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved playing poker, spending time outdoors mudding and hunting, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He also took great pride in making walking sticks, a reflection of both his craftsmanship and love for the outdoors. Above all, he cherished his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Patience Jenkins (Zack Lott) and Timothy “TJ” Jenkins; his stepdaughter, Kiara Minor; The mother of his children Chandra Jenkins; his brothers, Michael Jenkins, Johnny Jenkins (Samantha), and Mark Jenkins; his special friends, Debbie Newlon and Shawn Newlon, whom he considered family; his grandson, Asher Lott; and step-grandchildren, Logan and Grayson.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall Jenkins and Ralph Jenkins.
Per Tim wishes, there will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matheny Whited Funeral Home.
Those wishing to honor Tim’s memory may do so in their own way, by spending time outdoors or lending a helping hand to someone in need, just as he often did.
